Functionalities up to date :

  • Sign up

  • Login with respective credentials given when signing up

  • Change Password

  • Add contacts

  • Read contacts

  • Edit contacts

  • Delete contacts

  • Delete user profile through password authentication [ this also clears all contacts user has saved so far ]

  • Then sign up as a new user again

IMPORTANT!

  1. Set your respective MySQL credentials at src\app\Database.java

  2. You should manually have the MySQL Java Connector loaded to your project through your IDE

  3. Run the 3 simple SQL queries mentioned in any one of the files in the sql folder before running the application for the first time

  4. Java version used is 1.8, i.e. Java8

  5. If you have forgotten your credentials you can run the below MySQL query and retrieve them

  SELECT * FROM users;

Note :

When adding a new contact, or editing an existing contact;

The value user intends to enter as the contacts' number has a condition : it cannot exceed (2^31 - 1)

[ in order to prevent data truncation error in the database, refer src\controllers\AddContactController.java -> validateNumber(String number) ]

Also, it should be non-negative.

We have a concept of Scenes in JavaFX, and I have used the words scene and view interchangeably

Other :

IDE and other tools used are;

  1. IntelliJ Community Edition

  2. Scene Builder
