Thank you for being a part of our community and for dedicating your time to organizing a GitHub Copilot Global Bootcamp event! 🎉
The GitHub Copilot Global Bootcamp is a learning series designed to help developers fully leverage GitHub Copilot within Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, and GitHub Codespaces while connecting with community experts—like you! 😊
In this second edition, beyond the virtual format, we are introducing 2.5 to 3-hour in-person workshops led by tech communities around the world.
The bootcamp is open to developers of all levels and focuses on leveraging AI-assisted coding with GitHub Copilot. It will take place between June 17 and 28, 2025.
To help you successfully promote your Bootcamp, we provide a Marketing Toolkit with essential resources, including:
- A marketing checklist to guide you through key promotional activities.
- A reference text for your event registration page.
- Social media templates to create engaging promotional graphics.
Leverage these resources to maximize visibility and attract more participants to your event!
The GitHub Copilot Global Bootcamp is designed to be a hands-on experience, allowing participants to learn by doing. The content is divided into four modules, from the basics of GitHub to the advanced features of GitHub Copilot. Each module is designed to be completed in 30-45 minutes, with a total duration of 2.5 to 3 hours for the entire bootcamp.
In our content folder, you will find the presentation slides and a list of hands-on labs for each module. You can choose the labs that best fit your audience's skill level and interests.
Your agenda will look like this:
Content | Concepts Taught | Learning Goal | |
---|---|---|---|
01 | Introduction to GitHub | Get started using GitHub in less than an hour. | Introduction to repositories, branches, commits, and pull requests. |
02 | Introduction to GitHub Codespaces | Develop code using GitHub Codespaces and Visual Studio Code! | How to create a codespace, push code from a codespace, select a custom image, and customize a codespace. |
03 | Introduction to GitHub Copilot | How GitHub Copilot works, Responsible AI, and setup | Understand AI-assisted coding principles and configure GitHub Copilot for development |
04 | Hands-on Labs | GitHub Copilot can help you code by offering autocomplete-style suggestions right in VS Code and Codespaces. | Explore GitHub Copilot capabilities. |
Note
The Introduction to GitHub module is optional and can be skipped if your audience is already familiar with GitHub. You can add a question to your registration page to understand your audience's familiarity with GitHub. If most participants are already comfortable with GitHub, you can skip this module and focus on the other three.
