Do we really need the "load more" in trees?

Every time I'm browsing a larger tree in the new backoffice, I'm confused about not being able to find what I'm looking for.

In this example, I was looking for a rich text data type in the data types tree, confused about why I couldn't find it. And then I remembered, the children are paged, and an almost invisible "load more" link is present, to enable loading more children.

Is this really necessary? Why can't we just load all the children? Even if it has to be done over several requests?
