Database backup log alerting

Issue: In DBA Dash, backup alerts for log backups are being incorrectly triggered for 5 out of 486 servers.

Details: When querying the SQL database, the last backup time is displayed correctly and does not indicate a failure. This issue has only occurred since yesterday, and no changes have been made to the affected servers.

I updated from 3.16 to 3.18 today to see if it could resolve the issue

Is it an issue with the configured thresholds? Navigate down to the HA/DR node of the tree for the impacted instances. On the Backups tab, check the log backup warning and critical thresholds and the threshold configured level. Also check the Snapshot Date column to ensure that the collection has ran recently. If the collection hasn't ran, check for errors on the DBA Dash ErrorLog tab.

You could also run the collection query on your monitored instance to ensure this is returning what you expect.

So when I run the collection query it returns the correct result. when I query the backup table for the instance ID it returns only the result for the full backup not the logs. The snapshot date is correct as well for the latest time, no errors appearing in the dba log.

You can use this query to check the underlying data in the repository DB.

Check that this matches what is returned by the collection script, the snapshot date is recent. Note: The dates are stored in UTC format in the repository DB.
Also check that the Instance column returns the name of the expected instance. One possibility is that the data is being returned from a different instance than expected - either the display name was changed or the connectionid in the config tool was mixed up.

apologies for the delay I will check this Tuesday, but I believe it is the way it is reporting incorrectly that it is out of date for 2008 servers and only happening on that
