If you look at the underlines on links on www.stanford.edu, it looks close to the text it's underlining. The best way to see this is to look at the hyperlinks in the red Stanford footer on www.stanford.edu (bottom of the page) and compare it to our red Stanford footer on the PURL page.

@astridu This discrepancy was intentional as we were mimicking the existing underline style defined by Gary and Jennifer used broadly in Searchworks, etc.

We are updating the style to match more closely with what the university is doing.
