Sleep causes R offline. Waiting to reconnect.

When my machine enters sleep mode I lose my connection to the current R session(s) with this message in the console:

R 4.3.1 offline. Waiting to reconnect.
R 4.3.1 exited unexpectedly: exit code 1 (error)
R 4.3.1 offline. Waiting to reconnect.

Is it possible to keep the session persistent despite sleep/hibernate?

My configuration:

I believe this is the same as #6660; want to take a look and see if you have additional detail to add? We have a proposed fix in #7909 which will hopefully get this problem solved.
