Hi @pjlewisuk Thanks for using Tasks. This isn't possible, I'm afraid - I put in a feature request similar to this: #958 It's only got two votes so far. Feel free to up-vote it. But I realise now that you are asking to exclude tags from groups, rather only include certain tags. I'll add a note to that one, linking to this. |

Hi,
I’m trying to build an automated reading list in obsidian, whereby anything I tag with “#toRead” is discovered by the reading list. I then also add other tags relevant to the topic or project that the reading item is relevant to, e.g. “#topic1”, “#topic2”, “#project1”.
When I search for all non completed tasks tagged with “#toRead” I then group by tags, but I’d like to exclude the “#toRead” tag itself as this is just a list of everything on the list, and adds no value.
I want to maintain the “#toRead” tag so that I can note down things as I find the, wherever I am please e.g. in a daily not, a project note, or elsewhere, and then have the master “reading list” find everything for me when I want/have time to actually read these things!
Here is my tasks query so far, can anyone suggest if it’s possible to exclude a tag from “group by” in the way I’d like, or an alternative way to achieve this?
