Have you changed the transcoding settings in Immich at all? |

I can't replicate this. Do you use the Firefox version that comes with the OS. If yes then I think those versions usually doesn't come with all the needed software in the regular Firefox version downloaded from the web. |

You can go to the transcoding settings and uncheck PCM as an accepted audio codec, then re-transcode assets through the job panel. The audio should play at that point. |

This is not an issue with immich, but with Firefox! Just enable transcoding if audio is PCM |

I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report.
The bug
I have an 8 year old video in my photo album. When looking at the video in Immich, Immich only shows video, the audio is lost. (the browser shows the muted audio icon without being able to change it, indicating the converted file for browser viewing lost the audio track) Downloading the original and opening it in VLC does play the audio.
The file in question:
The table at https://immich.app/docs/features/supported-formats shows
.avi
is supported (but does that really mean anything, as avi's can contain so many formats??)The OS that Immich Server is running on
Debian 6.1.124-1 (2025-01-12) via 28.0.1, build 068a01e
Version of Immich Server
v1.131.3
Version of Immich Mobile App
v1.131.3
Platform with the issue
Your docker-compose.yml content
Your .env content
Reproduction steps
Expected: The video file plays and the audio works
Actual: The video file only shows audio

Relevant log output
Additional information
Note that Chromium 135.0.7049.52 plays the audio of the above file, Firefox 137.0.1 does not.
EDIT: The Android app also fails to play the sound
