ollama doesn't work if not running on the same host

When I try to use ollama and specify a base_url, I get a "connection refused"-error.
It seems like base_url is not passed to litellm in llm.py.

I had that problem for a while too.
I looked through some examples provided in the documentation and found that you can provide a config for 'knowledge_config' and 'llm'.
It might not be the same, but it started working after I provided a config for knowledge like the following:

I used embedding model 'nomic-embed-text:latest' that I pulled in ollama.
Maybe you could try providing something similar for llm and specify the ollama_base_url in there?

Problem & Solution:

Root Cause: The LLM class accepted base_url, api_key, api_version, and timeout parameters in its constructor but none were passed to any of the 24+ litellm calls throughout the file.

Fix Implemented:

1. Added _build_completion_params() method to centralize parameter handling
2. Updated all litellm.completion() and litellm.acompletion() calls to use the new method
3. Fixed async/sync bugs where sync completion was used in async contexts
4. Ensured consistent parameter passing across all methods

This resolves the issue not just for Ollama, but for all providers requiring custom base URLs or API configurations.

Usage Example:

Now users can properly connect to remote Ollama instances:
