Selecting a word in the sentence does not bring up suggestions in the suggestions bar

After writing a sentence, when the cursor is moved to one of the words, no suggestions are shown in the suggestion bar.
This happens for every word, both out-of-dictionary words and "known" words.

When placing the cursors at the end of the word, suggestions appear if letters are added or removed, but not otherwise.

Sometimes switching keyboards (e.g. going to the system keyboard and back to custom keyboard) does bring up suggestions, but this is not always reproducible.

Desired behaviour: When going back to a previously written words (by means of tapping or placing cursor) suggestions should appear in the suggestion bar.

I have a similar experience in a few apps. Especially on Android for 'brave' browser (private tab, when entering words in the search/navigation-bar) and especially always in 'fluffy chat', which is a flutter app.
I initially considered this bug to be realted to #65 and reported there (that issue is already closed for some time and was supposed to be fixed - But isn't for me on these apps).
