Issue with S3 Assetstore Upload – ACLs Not Supported #414

Hi DSA Team,

We encountered an error while using the S3Assetstore in Girder when uploading to an S3 bucket that does not support ACLs. The error message is as follows:

<Error>
  <Code>AccessControlListNotSupported</Code>
  <Message>The bucket does not allow ACLs</Message>
  <RequestId>[REDACTED]</RequestId>
  <HostId>[REDACTED]</HostId>
</Error>

We would appreciate your guidance on the following:

  1. Is there a way to configure DSA so it does not attempt to set ACLs on objects during upload?

  2. Alternatively, are there specific S3 bucket Object Ownership settings that need to be configured to ensure compatibility with DSA and the S3Assetstore?

Looking forward to your insights.
