dnscrypt-proxy not in Raspberry OS

Although all suggested dnscrypt-proxy online guides say to use sudo apt install dnscrypt-proxy this doesn't work for years as the package is not in Raspberry OS respository. GitHubs own respositry inlcudes a dnscrypt-proxy-linux-arm64 package-2.1.8.tar.gz which includes several files and scripts meant for PiHola but with no instructions whastoever.

Can someone please explain how can I install them or point out a comprehensive guide for a not so tech person? Thanks

Don't the regular instructions for Linux work?

@jedisct1 thank you and yes. That worked for me although the package must be unziped into the /opt/ directory and the directory where dnscrypt-proxy file resides renamed to dnscrypt-proxyso that the path becomes: /opt/dnscrypt-proxy/. Then you can safely follow the regular instructions for Linux.
